NovaMind Connect is a completely new and unique system for sharing Mind Maps online… and it’s a lot more than that, too.
NovaMind Connect allows the user to almost instantly take a Mind Map document created in NovaMind and upload it directly from NovaMind to NovaMind Connect, where it is turned into a full HTML version of the document, where you can click on each Mind Map to view the detail of that Mind Map. From there you see all the branches of the Mind Map in expandable outline form, and you can navigate to each branch either by clicking it on the Mind Map, or in the outline.

What happens to a Mind Map that has been uploaded?
Each Mind Map within the document is shown as an image and you can click through to view the Mind Map in detail.
Each branch has an image of the branch and its children created automatically by the system. The URL of each branch is unique, so if you want to tell someone else about that branch and give them a link directly to it, you can do so. There is also a built-in capability for you to bookmark any branch on your favorite social bookmarking web site.
NovaMind Connect has full international support built in, so you can upload your Mind Maps in any language.
Comments
There is the capability of adding comments to any document, map, or branch, so that you can carry on conversations about the Mind Maps directly where the comments apply, and yet the system allows you to see all the conversations about the document in one place, threaded according to document, map, and branch that they are attached to.
Uploading, Updating and Searching
NovaMind Connect allows you to update existing documents that you have already uploaded, and will keep any comments that have been made on your Mind Maps, and branches so long as the branch is still there in the new version of the document.
As soon as the document has been uploaded, the full text of every branch, attached text, branch note etc is fully searchable within the system, so it is easy to find Mind Maps that mention a particular word.
When you upload a document, you give it a title, description and tags to make it easy to find the document. The tags are used to create a tag cloud which gives you instant access to all the documents tagged with that word.
Rating
You can build up an ordered list of your favorite Mind Map documents by rating them – again it’s just a single click to record how much you like that document. You can then see the documents you like in order from your most favorite to least favorite. This rating also contributes to the site-wide top rated Mind Map list that allows the best Mind Maps to percolate to the top of the list for easy viewing.
Profiles, Friends and Messages
When you set up your account on NovaMind Connect, you can tell people about yourself in your profile, and also you have a quick view of all the Mind Maps that you have posted and those that others have posted too. In addition, you can see the comments that you have made on anything within NovaMind Connect. There are also preferences for receiving notifications when people comment on your Mind Maps.
You can also invite other members to become your friends within NovaMind Connect. Once connected, you can receive notifications when they have uploaded new Mind Maps, and you can communicate with them directly through the built in messaging system.
You can also view other peoples’ profiles and see the Mind Maps that they have posted and the comments that they have made about the Mind Maps.
Mind Map download, PDF and Jpeg Mind Map images
You can also download any Mind Map document that has been uploaded, using it for your Mind Mapping needs, and each Mind Map automatically has a JPEG image and PDF image available to be downloaded directly from NovaMind Connect.
Keeping up to date with the RSS feed
NovaMind Connect also has a built in RSS feed that lists all the latest documents, so you can subscribe to the feed and be notified of the latest Mind Map postings as they are added.
What is the cost of NovaMind Connect?
Obviously NovaMind have invested a lot into putting this system together, made up of 11 different systems in 4 geographic locations, and there are ongoing charges for bandwidth and storage space etc, but they have decided to give it away to all users of NovaMind Pro and Platinum.
Anyone can look at the Mind Maps, search for them and download them, so this is also giving a benefit to Express customers as well, but Pro and Platinum customers have all the added benefits of being able to upload to NovaMind Connect, being able to rate and comment, being able to build a group of NovaMind Connect friends, etc.
