Align to baseline grid doesn’t work on the pasteboard?
This just came from a post on the user to user forum where someone wrote she was having problems with text that jumped its leading increments.
It was an obvious problem with text aligned to the baseline grid.
But a comment the user made that the text behaved fine when it was on the pasteboard startled me.
She wrote:

Whoa! If a text frame is not on the page, align to baseline grid no longer applies.
Well it makes some sense as the baseline grid is applied to a page. And the document baseline grid only appears over each page.
But seems to me that this could cause great confusions as the user found. Draw a frame in the artboard and it behaves one way. Place it on the page and kaboom, it behaves another.
I don’t believe early versions of ID behaved this way and would love to know when it changed. (When the custom baseline grid was added to individual frames?)
But this is definitely a “gotcha” for most people, especially those coming from Quark which does not discriminate between the artboard and the pasteboard.
