A Script to Show All Fonts Used in Photoshop Files
Need a list of all the fonts used in your PSDs? A simple script makes the job fast and easy.

Recently, someone asked in the forums if there was a way to see all the fonts used in a large number of Photoshop files without having to open them all. This stumped me for a little while, but I felt like there had to be some way to do it. I knew of a script that would list all fonts in an open PSD, but not a folder full of them. I thought maybe Bridge could help, but it only lists fonts used in InDesign and Illustrator files. So, I searched and ended up finding this script that does the job. It’s fairly ancient, but it I tested it and it still works perfectly in Photoshop 2024.
To install the script, copy the text from the link above and save it in a plain text file with the extension .jsx. Then, put that file in the Presets > Scripts folder inside the Photoshop application folder. Restart Photoshop and the script will be listed in the File > Scripts submenu. Select the script to run it. It will ask you which folder contains the files you want to search. When it’s done, a plain text file (called fonts.txt) will be in the folder you searched listing all the Photoshop file names and the corresponding fonts, plus a full list of all the fonts in all the files. Easy peasy.
