Short delay (about 4 seconds) when opening files in Windows Indesign

      Version CS6.
      I’m not sure if this is a windows problem or an InDesign problem. I feel like it’s only InDesign that does this.

      When I click file –> open, there’s a short (but maddening) delay before the open dialogue appears.
      However if do this, then do it again shortly afterwards… the open dialogue appears instantly.
      So I can do file, open, choose my file and click ok… then file – open shortly after, and the second time it’s fast.

      If I wait, say, 15 or 30 seconds between opening files… that annoying lag / delay returns.

      I’m wondering if it’s either a thumbnail generation thing (but I don’t have thumbnails for ID files),
      or a network/mapped drive thing. Has anyone else noticed (and fixed) this before?
