InDesign CC crashes upon opening data merge panel

      I’m working on an existing InDesign data merge template, but when I go to open the data merge panel, InDesign instantly crashes. I’ve tried opening the Data Merge panel first then opening the template file and it again crashes instantly.

      The InDesign template is on a network and I’ve tried packaging and opening on my local drive and it’s still crashing. I’ve also tried working from the IDML and again, it crashes. My colleague is able to open and work on the same document from the network drive without InDesign crashing upon opening the data merge panel so it seems like it may be an issue with my workstation.

      Is this a glitch with my version of InDesign? Is it a network error?

      I’m working on a Windows 7 PC. InDesign version is 2015.2 Release (11.4.1.102 x64 Build).

      Thanks for the reply David! I will try rebuilding preference. I should note, as of 15 minutes ago, the data merge panel is now opening without any further crashing, which leads me to think there is something weird going on with the network connection.
