markdownID does not apply paragraph styles, only does character styles

I tried markdownID, but while it does successfully apply character styles (tried EM, STRONG, CODE and HYPERLYNK) it applies no paragraph style at all (tried H1, H2 and PRE). It was already mentioned some years ago that markdownID seemed to be broken in InDesign CC (https://creativepro.com/topic/markdownid), but since the symptoms I experience are different I though about asking.
