I had a master spread that I copied to create a new one. I removed the page number on the right-hand page but I cannot select the one on the left to delete that.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you…………………. liz

ps, when I look in Layers at the master that I copied from there is only one item: <text – right page number>. Which makes me think I have some sort of mirroring on but I can’t see where.

The only thing I can think of is to go to that master spread and select Object > Unlock All On Spread

I had this same issue once and I think that was the fix.

      Hi Dan

Thank you for the suggestion. I don’t see ‘Unlock all on Spread’ under Object or any other menu item… I think that’s because you have to select an object to show lock or unlock. I tried select all and there is no frame around the page number on the left hand page plus the Object menu only shows Lock so all recognisable items are not locked.

p/s/ and if I select all and delete the Master id indicating a page number, in this case’A’, remains on the left page

Ok I have been playing around and found this: My A master is based on the D master. if I remove that ‘based on’ parameter the page number on the left disappears which is what I want. I also wanted to leave the pages linked so I then tried to apply ‘based on’ the D Master again and the right and left page numbers reappear again with the left one being unselectable. On the D Master there is nothing special about the left hand page number, it is selectable.

SOLUTION: Remove page number from ‘based on’ Master and recreate it. Check the ‘child’ master, left-hand page number exists and is selectable and therefore can be deleted.
