    Greetings,

    I’m an InDesign novice, having created a few simple trifolds and taken a few classes in it, but haven’t used it in about a year now.

    I started doing our departments annual report in it last year, and things got over my head, I couldn’t easily edit it and make changes that my boss needed without the layout getting away from me. So, I scraped it and did it in word to get it done quickly.

    With about 60 days to go when he will need another one published, does anyone have a simple template I could start with? Something I could possibly build upon and work into something acceptable for this project? I’d appreciate any other tips or thoughts on the matter. I was thinking of taking an intro Lynda course to refresh me on the program.

    Taking a Lynda.com course is a great idea, Dan. There are a lot to choose from, including my Essential Training course and others.

    We have some templates here on this site (see the two template pages in the Resources dropdown menu in the black nav bar at the top of the page), which might help. But there’s nothing like knowing your feet are under you when you start a project.
