Hi.
I have an Event Calendar in a publication I do and there are a few months I’m trying to find a good way to minimize errors in it. If you want to take a look at the layout:

It doesn’t seems complicated, but it takes several pages and takes a lot of time. To make things easier, I made some nested styles, so It already formats the texto as needed. The problem lies in the vertical colored lines. It’s very dangerous to make them manually, because any small change can make them appear smaller or bigger than the text block.
—- this is a solution I had before, don’t mind to read it —–
I’ve tried to use a text style with a shading with a left offset, making every line to have it’s own “color bar”. It was working okay but was always a mess when it comes to including those imagens between blocks: if I put them inside the text frame, they didn’t have the color bar so the best option was to make some carriage returns and manully put the images. Problems were that some vertical bars were unaligned on top or bottom if I fit text to frame.

Tired of all that, I made a table. :) Every row are styled to have a left color border. Titles like “MUSICAL” are a Paragraph Style including the color bar in the back of the text. In fact it’s working, and much better. It’s easier to manage. BUT I have a problem: fitting the table in the text frame.
I know other people already asked about it, but is there a way to “auto fit” table to text frame? I’m doing it manually right now and it’s not a big problem, but if there is a way to make rows height changing to fit column height, would be great. ;)
Thanks a lot.
