CS5 El Capitan problem

      CS5 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

      I have an issue that gradually gets worse when I’m using InDesign CS5, it occurs after I’ve been using the software for a 60 minutes or so: the font and sub-font boxes in the control panel become inactive, when I click on either the list of fonts is blank, nothing listed

      It gets progressively worse the longer I’m using InDesign, the character style panel also gets affected in the same way.

      I can work around it by going into ‘Type’ at the top of the screen but its way too laborious. Has anybody else had the issue? Is there a fix?
