Why does my screen go black

      Hi – when I place an image the screen momentarily goes black. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I’m on OSX El Capitan 10.11.13

      Processor 3.1ghz Intel core i5

      8gb ram

      I have binned preferences – that did not work.
