I often see standardised brochure template examples which look like partially open brochures/tri-folds or a real brochure on a blank background. Sadly I’m not very artistic so I wonder if anyone can point me to examples of how to create these? I imagine some sort of suitably shaped frame and shadowing into which the pdf of a cover/inside page could be placed to give the illusion of a real open document?

      This link has examples… https://naldzgraphics.net/freebies/free-brochure-templates/

I’m hoping to produce a page showing numerous research documents that a friend has produced to spend to a CV and I thought that rather than just use the front covers would be good to produce numerous real looking brochures.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

One of the techniques to do this is through smart objects in Photoshop. You create a shape the size of the actual flap. You convert it to a smart object, and then you transform it with distort and skew to the effect that you want. You can add a subtle gradient overlay to give it the effect of depth. Then you just open the smart object and place any file that you want, and it updates in the parent document with all the distortions.

Thanks Ari – I’ll give that a whirl! I suspect there must be some standard templates out there as so many of these look identical from different people – I can have a better hunt for these now I know what I’m after.
