To Cloud or not to Cloud

      We are the publishers of an independent provincial newspaper and are currently upgrading all 4 of our computers. We currently run CS6 creative suite, but the PC upgrades will of course mean a new Windows system that will not allow the current CS6 to operate. We use pretty much all programs in CS. We are debating whether to upgrade the CS6 or go over to CC. I have tried to read debates on this, but they seem to be a few years old. Any new thoughts/complaints about CC that we should know about?

      I personally was afraid of the change, but I took the plunge and never looked back.

      For me CC was a must, since I bought a new laptop with a 4K screen and all the applications were tiny and unreadable unless I decreased the screen resolution,and starting from CC 2014 Adobe added support for HiDpi screens.

      But honestly, I love the subscription model. I am always immediately up to date with all new features.

      I really don’t see why you shouldn’t update. Everything’s that’s in CS6 is in CC as well. Plus plenty of new features and enhancements. Besides, let’s be honest, it’s a only a matter of time when you’ll start to realize that CS6 is very outdated. It’s not so outdated yet, but it will be pretty soon. And the longer you wait, the more overwhelming the change will be. So you might as well jump into it right now, and slowly discover and learn all the new features that come out slowly but surely on a steady basis.

      I am using CS6 but, because I am retired and my use of CS6 does not generate any income (I use it mainly to produce material for a church to which I belong) it makes no financial sense for me to commit to a subscription model. I am also worried that, if I let me subscription expire before I expire myself (perhaps because, being a pensioner, I run out of money), I will be unable to open files created by CC.

      Now my only concern is that future upgrades of my Mac OS will make use of CS6 impossible. Then, maybe, I WILL expire!
