Hey all,
As I am designing the layout for various theses, I often come across a problem, and I would like to know if it’s possible to solve it:
People send me referencelists with hundreds of references, and numbers in list are more often then not converted to text.
I want to give the listnumbers a different look: So I make a Paragraphstyle, use Drop Caps and Nested stiles, Lines 01, Characters 3, give them a Characterstyle.
In this particular case, every number is followed by a ‘.’ (full stop) but I would like to change that into a ‘)’
Now I thought; find replace the . with a ), using Find/Change, making sure Find Format is set to the correct Characterstyle…
but I was wrong: now all full stops are changed, the ones in the referencetexts as well, meaninig that sentences now end with a )…
doesnt matter if I use different color, different size, the tab behind the character…
Is there something I could use to make it relatively easy to change a character in those lists? I have the idea I should use a different tactic alltogether, but have now idea what that would be…
Hope you get what I’m after :D
Cheers!
