Reducing page size without reducing art

I’m trying to change the size of a lengthy book. I want to reduce the width only, not the height. When I use Document Setup to reduce the width, all the artwork on the page is reduced accordingly. Is there a way to override this? I cannot find such a command or control. Not sure if this is a Liquid Layout issue. I may end up doing it all manually, but that would be a royal pain. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I should add that I’m using a Mac with 10.10.5 and InDesign CC 2015. And I want to use Print Booklet, which is very fussy when page sizes are changed, or has been in the past. Thanks.

Do you want the text frame sizes and positions of objects to change? Or you want only the page size itself to change?
