      Hi all.
      I’ve got about 30 documents that all more or less use the same styles and master pages. I chose to do them separately because I have to export each to Acrobat as interactive PDFs so that a database can read the text in the fields or put text into the fields. And I need the metadata to be individual for each document.

      But now that we’re doing revisions, the client wants to revise every document.

      Is it possible to link all documents together to use the same styles and master pages? Is that what a long document idea is for?

      Thanks.

      Yes, you can do that… at least for some features:

      You can put them into a Book. (.indb file)

      File->New->Book

      Drag your files into the new Book palette.

      It takes a little learning to understand how it works, but it sounds like a good idea for you. Also, when you export the entire Book as a PDF, you can then Extract all the Pages separately in Acrobat.

      Hope that helps.

      (Always try Mr Blatner’s suggestion first, though!)
