"Move Pages" causes text to un-align from baseline grid?

I have news briefs section with lots of photos and break-out elements that I am trying to move to a separate document. The briefs section text is aligned to the baseline grid in its own document. When those pages appear in the other document after “Move Pages” is complete, the text is not aligned to the grid anymore. Pieces get pushed around, and my layout is basically ruined. Only the pages that were moved are affected – none of the other pages in the receiving document have this problem.

The document grids’ values match exactly. Any idea why this might be happening even though the grids are the same? Why would the text un-align itself instead of preserving the settings from the previous document? I just want to conserve all formatting and settings!

I’m on CC2015 – Mac OSX. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you moving pages from one document to another? Each document may have a different baseline grid setting.

Thanks for the response! Yes, it’s to a separate document. And the grid settings on both documents should be the same as I adjusted them manually to match each another.

Well, double-check the Preferences dialog box for each document, to be sure.

I hope you’re not using the Basic paragraph style: https://creativepro.com/beware-basic-styles.php

Or maybe something here will help? https://creativepro.com/when-indesign-ignores-your-leading-values.php
