MEI Releases InQuery RSS for K4 Publishing System??

Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced the release of InQuery® RSS, a new add-on for the SoftCare K4™ Publishing System. InQuery RSS lets users review and check the status of items in the K4 database from any Internet-enabled device with an RSS reader.
Feeds can be read on various platforms and devices, including desktops, Palm, BlackBerry and iPhone. Since feeds have unique addresses, users can easily bookmark or subscribe to them for quick access. InQuery RSS’s intelligent security features keep the K4 database protected, requiring users to authenticate by K4 user name and password. And permissions are based on existing K4 logins, so InQuery RSS users have access to the same queries and data that they see when logged into K4.
InQuery RSS is designed for any K4 user who wants to keep an eye on the workflow anytime, from anywhere. It can also be applied to workflows in which some teams may not have direct access to K4 but could benefit from a quick preview of content — for example, Web team members who have to create teasers to tout the next day’s print content, or staff repurposing stories for a sister publication.
“InQuery RSS gives K4 users the freedom to stay connected to the database beyond the confines of a desktop workspace,” said Dennis McGuire, CEO and president of MEI. “Having a quick overview at any moment can help managers prevent potential production-stopping issues early in the workflow.”

InQuery RSS for Windows is available now. For more details, contact an MEI sales representative at 215-886-5662 or an authorized MEI distributor. Additional information can be found on the MEI Web site at www.maned.com.
