Using InDesign CC 2014, I have created an interactive magazine and exported it as a SWF file.
I am able to turn pages using a Page Curl and I am able
to view and play an mp4, video file that was inserted into the
file. I would like to export this entire InDesign file as an
interactive PDF, so anyone can view it. But when I do that, the video of course does not play.
I have seen tutorials that state that animations must be exported
to SWF files and reinserted into the InDesign document and only then
when it becomes an interactive PDF, you wont loose the Page Curl and the animation be viewed.
But this process does not seem to work with
video files. Is that true? What am I doing wrong? Please tell me
there is a solution. Thanks, in advance!!!

What happens when you try to play the video? Have you turned on Play on Page Load in the Media panel? Are you clicking on the video in the PDF? Can you get the video to work with a normal interactive PDF (in a new test file, just by itself)?

      Hi David,
Thank you so much for responding. BTW, I am a fan of your work
      and videos on Lynda.com.
I tried clicking the video, but nothing happens. It is just a picture of the first
frame. I set the Play back to Play on Page Load. When it is
not set to play on page load, I see the Flash icon and a message
that says to click to activate. But even then, nothing happens.

When I created separate InDesign document with just the video (I placed
it in as an .swf file) and export as an Interactive PDF, it still will
not run. Just the image of the current frame will be visible.
When I click it, nothing happens. I have tried all the combinations
of Play on load, with no poster, standard poster and current frame.
I really hope help me with this one.
      Thanks again.

      Eric
