Vignette Extends Leadership in Web Experience Management
Vignette (NASDAQ:VIGN) today announced a series of new and enhanced products that will be released as part of its Web Experience Platform to help organizations deliver superior online experiences. The integrated platform provides organizations the ability to uniquely deliver fast, personal, social and multichannel Web experiences with less reliance on IT.
“Our customers seek ways to deliver an enhanced online experience that is uniquely theirs,” said Mike Aviles, president and chief executive officer at Vignette. “Vignette’s Web Experience Platform is comprehensive, flexible and scalable. It provides our customers the integrated suite of products and services they need to execute on their particular Web strategies.”
Personal
Organizations want to connect with customers on a more emotional level. To help marketing and customer service professionals consistently provide the most relevant and engaging content, Vignette will introduce an enhanced version of its popular Rich Media Services product and robust analytics. Vignette will also launch Vignette Recommendations, a unique solution that can deliver content to an individual based on their intent. Vignette is also adding social search technology which can help dramatically improve the quality of search results.
Social
Organizations want to deliver online experiences that feature customer-created content and online communities. In 2008, Vignette will launch two community product lines featuring a comprehensive set of social networking capabilities including ratings, reviews, polls, tagging, tag clouds, comments, usage analysis, blogs, wikis, forums and moderation support. The new products are designed to meet the needs of dynamic customer-facing Web sites that can scale to millions of users.
Multichannel
As the Web becomes pervasive, users are demanding the ability to perform all business transactions online with a high-quality, personal experience regardless of channel or device. To address this market need, Vignette is significantly enhancing its process automation and interaction capabilities, enabling organizations to connect with customers where and how the customer desires, while remaining agile and responsive to changing market needs.
Strong Enterprise Foundation
At the core of the Web Experience Platform is a scalable enterprise foundation that helps some of the world’s premier Web sites manage and deliver content. During the year, Vignette will add an innovative, patented Web content caching product to its enterprise foundation. The new High Performance Delivery product delivers a unique combination of intelligent cache management, dynamic page caching with AJAX support and real-time caching capabilities which can accelerate site performance, reduce infrastructure requirements and improve business continuity.
“Enterprises with effective persuasive content initiatives need to build and maintain four key roles targeted at their management and use of content,” wrote Kyle McNabb, principal analyst at Forrester. “Content strategies must align with business objectives, which might include improving the customer experience, driving costs out of the call center, or improving online conversion rates.” (“Four Roles Needed To Support Persuasive Content Management Initiatives,” Forrester Research, Inc., January 2008.)
