Book and Regular Fonts Combined When Packaging

      We have and InDesign CC layout with the DAX (OpenType) font family used throughout. The Book, Regular, Bold, Bold Italic, weights/styles are in use. When it’s Packaged, the Book font is not sent, even with all boxes checked. When the InDesign Package is sent to someone else, they have no reference to the Book font. There is no “Font missing” error, but the “Substituted Fonts” are highlighted, due to the setting in the Preferences>Composition tab. The text styled with DAX Book are subbed with Regular. There’s no warning–but there is reflow. Any ideas?

      It’s likely that DAX (OpenType) font is not allowed to be embedded, linked or outlined.

      Contact the font makers of DAX for a solution.

      Fonts are basically software, they come with stipulations – and they end with their creator/foundry. Ask them.
