shortkeys for glyphs

      Hello,

      I found some posts related to this, but am not entirely sure how they relate to my situation. In previous versions of InDesign, using an older version of Windows (I believe XP), I was able to use shortkeys to type in special characters (which, if I understand correctly, are “glyphs”?). These shortkeys were typically alt + 0xxx. However, I am currently using Windows 8 and InDesign 6, and these shortkeys no longer work with my font. Is there any way to bring these back? Is there a way to manually change the shortkeys for these special characters?

      The alt- number pad shortcuts are a Windows thing, not an InDesign thing.
      Remember that you have to turn on the Num Lock key to make the work, I believe.
