Veenix Font Tools 5.1 Upgrade Announcement

Veenix Software announced today the addition of several new features to its Macintosh OS X font management and type book printing software, Veenix Font Tools. New in version 5.1 is the Visual Font Database/Font List Auto-scroll feature, a convenient, hands-free way to quickly view or preview fonts. In addition to automatically scrolling the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) Font List, the auto-scroll feature also updates all active associative views and windows including the Font Samples window, the Font Measurements window, and the Character Sets window.
Also new in version 5.1 is the inclusion of general type-specing information in the Font Measurements window and on several Type Book layouts. Average “characters per pica” data is calculated for each font in point sizes ranging between 7 point and 20 point.
Other new and recent features include the option to temporarily activate fonts, an option to scan and remove potentially problematic fonts and improperly named fonts, a Web-based font search tool, several clipboard utilities and and a comping imposition tool.
Veenix Font Tools with Type Book Creator offers a comprehensive set of Macintosh tools for previewing, printing, activating/deactivating, installing and organizing fonts in OS X. Type Book Creator allows users to create customizable type books or catalogs of their entire font collection without the need to activate fonts first. The software also includes a proportion calculator, measurement conversion tool, color tools and screen grab tools.
