Select empty table cells using find/change, GREP, or a script?

I have a table with multiple rows and columns; cells are all various colours and at random locations (e.g. it’s not entire rows/columns which are empty). A lot of the cells do not contain any text and it’s these cells which I wish to select and change their cell colour so that all those cells with no text can have the same swatch colour applied. I realise that it’s probably not possible to select random located cells in one go, but I was thinking if there was a way through find/change or GREP where I could at least use change/find to make it quicker. Or even a script.

What I do now is put my cursor in an empty cell, press esc, then apply the colour swatch, but going through a table with many cells is quite long winded time wise.

      Cheers
