      Hello everybody.
I’m trying to create a document where teachers could change the names of pupils in example texts, as to avoid embarassment in class. Names are repeated, so I would like to make a pdf where if you change a name once, it changes everywhere.

I know how to do it with forms and a little javascript [this.getField(“X”) b.value=’X’] in Acrobat, but I was wondering if it was possible to simplify the task using Index or some new interactivity option in ID 6.

      Thank you in advance,
      Paul

I think you’d just have to use the Find/Change feature to search and replace text. You could do a whole bunch of them in one go using the findchangebylist script (search our site for info about this) or the Multi Find Change plug-in from automatication.com

Thanks, David. The multifind seems like a real timesaver.

I should have mentioned that my pdfs would ship on a CD accompaning the printed versions, so if there is a conflict in the names the teachers could print out their own versions.
I’d need something that sits in the extended reader enabled pdf.
