      Hi All,

I’ve looked online for how to do this, and I quess my “Google-foo” isn’t working. I’m doing a cookbook in ID and the index has already been made for it in Word. We will import that text doc into ID and style it. Here’s the problem. We are considering adding a couple of pages to the ID file towards the front of the document. This means that most of the numbers in the Word doc would be wrong.

If we know that we’re only adding 2 pages to the ID file, in theory, all we would have to do is have a way to “find and replace” every number in the document and add 2 to it. So the app, script, GREP expression, etc. would scan the text and find every number… then add the same number to it (2)… and perform the calculation to change the numbers accordingly.

I’m posting this on this blog because there are a lot of really smart folks here, and I’m hoping there’s a way to do it in ID.

      Thanks in advance.

Tried it and it seems to work great. I knew there had to be a solution for that. Thanks David.
