It’s called “control” or “tools”. Can be found under “window” (pc version for me)

If I tell you that I can’t find “tool” under window, will you believed me?. I have it in my CS5, not in CS6. Do I have to delete CS5? I try to set the layers with F7, in my Mac, but no response.

That is very strange, Humberto! You are in InDesign and look at the Window menu and you cannot see “Tools”? Very strange. Perhaps choose Arrange > Workspace > Advanced?

I try, no luck. I can’t see or access the application bar or the layers, even if I use the keyboard. If I open a page from my class, I wont see these items either.

I wrote a book with Steve Werner and Chris Smith years ago called “Moving to InDesign”, which you can find used for really cheap. Here it is on US amazon site. The whole idea of the book was: you already know PageMaker or QuarkXPress… now how do you do it in InDesign?

I also do training videos at lynda.com. You can get a free week trial at: https://www.lynda.com/trial/indesignsecrets

Good luck with the transition! It will be worth it.

I am going to delete the programs and start from new again. I will let you know. Thanks for your help. Save me some space for the future.
      Gracias…
