    Hello!
    I’m working with INDD book files containing between 50 and 90 documents, then I have one containing about 150 cross references linking to each one of the 50/90 files.

    Editing this last file is a real pain. Even if I have all the documents open, InDesign seems to continuously update all of them therefore even moving from one page to the other takes up to a minute, some time.

    I was wondering if anyone know any way to simply deactivate this function of constantly updating all the cross references that InDesign has, like the page numbers, one can simply deselect the option “automatically update numbering” or something like this. Is there a similar function that allows me to work on the document and update all the cross references ONLY at the end?
