Being new to indesign I would like to know how to begin an Epub. Seems info aroud starts talking about converting existing file to an epub doc. How does one start bulding an epub from scratch in InDesign? Is there a ebook that covers this?

      Thanks, Bob

Do you have the book written?

I don't know of an epub that talks about how to write an epub from scratch. It usually starts from the point where you have a manuscript.

But if you want to use InDesign to write your book, just be sure to apply good paragraph and character styles throughout, and keep all images inline. It makes no difference what size the page is how the margins are set since you'll be exporting it to EPUB which is “page-less.”

Or you can use any wordprocessor to write the book, then pour it into InDesign with autoflow enabled, and proceed converting your ID file to EPUB from there.

Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that the “body” would be created outside of indesign.

I am reading that one should either use a page for each, cover, title page, copyright page and one or more for each chapter.

Also they mention a “hard” returm, does that seperate the pages if it is one continous file? How doe one make the Hard return?

      Thank You
