I have InDesign CS6 Arabic version and now i want to design an English-Arabic Dictionary in 2 columns per page. the main structure is like this:

      LRT space LRT space RTL+LRT+RTL+LRT+RTL.

We didn't have any Problem with Arabic-English Dictionary, because InDesign CS6 Do every thing for us. but the Problem is with English-Arabic Dictionary. when we want to type LRT text in RTL text the cursor jumped to beginning of Arabic Text and didn't want to follow the Arabic text direction.it mean we have multilingual text start with LRT and have LRT in the medal of RTL Text in the same paragraph.

In the same time we also want Bidirectional alignment in one paragraph.

For more information you can see any English-Arabic Dictionary.

It sounds like you have the wrong paragraph direction set. If the main language of a paragraph is English, you need to set it to left-to-right. If you need to force the direction of a specific sequences, you'll need to set the character direction of the spaces.

I think you need to differentiate between (1) paragraph and (2) character.

      (1) In the Paragraph Style Options, choose Middle East Character Formats -> Character Direction [whatever you need for the paragraph as a whole — Left to Right or Right to Left]. (2) Then, in the Character Style Options, choose Middle East Characer Formats -> Character Direction [whatever you need for the characters NOT following the general paragraph reading direction].

      Dear samar!

First of all i am sorry for my broken English.

You are right, i know the difference between paragraph and character style, and its helpful when we use the simple English + Arabic Text which start form Left to Right or Right to left.

My Problem is in this complex structure: LRT space LRT Space/Tab RTL+LRT+RTL+LRT+RTL.

its mean that we have many Character Directions in one Paragraph Direction.

In English-Arabic Dictionary sometimes we need to add one or more English words in Arabic Text. This kind of situations make a problem.

Please Gaid me Step by Step
