I want a specific word to have 2 colors. E.g. the word HOTDOC. I want the HOT to be red and the DOC to be black. Is there an automated way to achieve that? The best i came up with is apply a red style to the whole word and then run a find change and apply a black style to the DOC part of the word. Any suggestions? Thanx a lot.

GREP Styles is great for that kind of thing. You could make two character styles (one for each part of the word), then use the code:

      HOT(?=D)

as a grep style to apply the red one to all text in the paragraph that is “HOT followed by D”

Do a search on our site for grep style to find lots more tricks.
