Just a question – and I may be wrong.

In ID 5.5 I could create a master page with master text frame. I could then flow text (for a book, for example).

At the same time, I could create an object style that uses paragraph styles: Chapter Head style, then next style and also uses an inset of 6 picas from the top.

AFTER flowing the text (thus being released from the master) I could then go to a specific text frame, such as a a start of a chapter and apply the object style mentioned above and the text would style correctly along with the inset (Even though it is already threaded).

With CS6 – I cannot get this to work – even though I am not using primary text frames – just using traiditonal master frames which are threaded. Am I worng or did this change? I cannot get object styles to apply to ANY threaded text frame. If I don't have threads, it works fine.

I don't think this changed in CS6. I don't remember ever being able to apply paragraphs styles via object styles when the text frame was threaded.

Went back and tested – never was an option. Not sure what I was thinking – it would be a very odd function for threaded text to behave that way. Now that I have come to reality, I realize that I was using object styles to create insets (now I'll just use primary text frames and replace master pages). Thanks
