Fixed Font Size Problem

      I have a list of endnotes – number plus text – nothing fancy. They are in 12 point, both numbers and text. All except one, in which the number stays stubbornly at 14 point, while the accompanying text is in 12 point.

      With “hidden characters” on, there is an # immediately following the 14 point number. I assume that this is preventing the number from being resized.

      How do I turn this # off ?
