Computer crashes when placing a picture in 5.5 – Help!

      hi everyone,

      I recently installed 5.5 on my new work PC and almost every time I place a picture (from my hard drive as well as on our work server) it crashes my entire computer (screen goes black, then blue with a lot of numbers/zeros on it and then automatically asks to restart windows). I stopped automatic Windows updates so it only installs them when I say so and that seemed to help for awhile but now its started again even with no new updates. I've even made sure I have all the plugins and updates for ID current.

      Any advice? I would be happy to answer any further questions.
