Split layout view in CS6

      Clicking the box for split layout view worked fine when I first used it, but as of today, when I have two documents open and click the split layout view box (in the lower righthand corner of the window) I get duplicates of the same document on both sides of the split, not the two documents side-by-side.

      I have tried quitting, restarting and all to no avail.

      I really like this feature, so please HELP me to get it working again.

      I think you're mixing up two things: There's 2-up windows (such as you get from the Arrange menu in the application bar, or if you choose window > arrange > tile), and split window (new in cs6). Split window always splits the window and shows the current document in both panes.
