Searching for best monitor for work

      Hi, all. I'm trying to figure out the best monitor for my work as an editor/book designer/publisher (in other words, no interest in watching TV or playing video games on it). I want to upgrade to a 27″ and would like to stay under $500. I have heard that the Samsungs are currently the way to go, and specifically about the Samsung P2770, but have read mixed reviews relative to the monitor's pixel quality and even the “wobbly” stand. Of course, it seems all the monitors have mixed reviews; hence my equivocation. I know I need 1080p native resolution and 300-400 candelas, but other than that, I'm at a loss. Any great ideas out there? Your help is appreciated.
