text formatting

      I am curious if anyone can help me with a complex text formatting question. I wrote a 412 page book for fellow coaches in Softball in pagemaker 5.0. A local shop “f” disked it before backing it up. I recovered half the book through a data recovery service. This was in the early 2000s. I now have pagemaker 6.5 but it doesn't maintain the text formatting and everything is moving around. (I don't have Pagemaker 5.0. It was on floppy!) If I got InDesign, and transferred it into that program, would it maintain the text alignment and formatting?
