Borders Backgrounds in Mobi

      I am stumped. When I convert an epub file via kindlegen, text that has a border and background specified in the CSS template does not translate correctly in any of the devices in the kindle previewer. The border and background don't show up at all in the Kindle and Kindle DX preview and they don't appear correctly in the iphone or ipad preview. It looks fabulous in the epub version.

      I've done tutorials on Lynda.com, have purchased Elizabeth Castro's epub straight to the point and must be missing something very elementary. Help!
