    How can I keep the file size down on my indesign and also the pdf file that results from it?

    I am workingon children's books for the nook and kindle and large file size works against me in the store.

    One of my books is about 28 MB for indd and 49MB for pdf and another with almost identical layouts and artwork is 45.5 for indd and 82.3 MBfor pdf.

    How can I keep the file size down on my indesign and also the pdf file that results from it?

    I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions.

    why don't you try downsampling the images on your publication? since the pages are only viewed on nook and kindle, you don't need to have high resolution images.
