CS4 to Epub font help

I'm working in CS4 converting to Epub, and for some reason, certain fonts are not being kept in the conversion. I created a character style with the specific font I'm using, with no local formatting, and when I view it in Adobe Digital Editions, it puts in a generic font.

Is there a step I'm missing? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's not you, Jordan. It's ADE (adobe digital editions)… in fact, most ebook readers ignore fonts some or all of the time. It's frustrating!

Also, if you embed fonts in the EPUB file, it will not pass validation for the Apple iBookstore. In my experience, Barnes&Noble will accept such an EPUB, but Apple will reject it.

Thank you for the advice and input. I was unaware of the font limitations in epub format!
