I'm not sure I'm in the right place to ask this question but I seem to have acquired an odd problem since Avast decided that Acrobat Pro was a virus. Avast fixed that with a speedy update but not before I had re-installed Acrobat. Now, whenever I print to Acrobat from within In Design (CS2 4.0.5) pdfs are created in My Documents rather than prompting for filename, which is how I have it set. The odd thing is, if I print the same document again immediately after, it will prompt for the filename and let me change directory. This also happens if I use Export. My version of Acrobat Pro is bang up to date. Printing from other applications (ie Photoshop and Office) always works correctly.

I've tried to login to the Adobe forums website but for some reason I'm locked out, but when I get that sorted I'll ask there as well.

Go to your printers folder (control panel, or start –> devices and printers on newer windows). Right click the acrobat PDF printer and choose printer preferences. (or do printer properties, then the printer preferences button).

You should get the pdf printing options screen. One of the dropdowns is “Adobe PDF output folder” and you can choose my documents or “prompt for filename”. Change it to that and you should be set.
