Anne-Marie Concepcion in her excellent “InDesign CS5 to EPUB, Kindle, and iPad” tutorial recommends removing from the CSS file the line such as

“font-family : “Times New Roman”, serif;”

That works fine in CS5 but when I do that in CS5.5 I lose all the formatting throughout the Epub.

Also in CS5.5 there are over 1200 line entries in the CSS whilst for the same epub in CS5 there are only 300.

      Thoughts please?

      Ken.

      I have a further problem with CS5.5

If a CS5.5. epub is opened in Sigil and a simple edit made such as adding some metadata or adding a semantic then on save/closing the epub the original toc is replaced by one with just a single nav point.

I had the same problem. Upgrade to Sigil 4.0 beta. It works great and has manynice additional features.

      Just a quick clarification…

The Sigil beta is at 0.4.0, not 4.0. The current released version is 0.3.4.

I guess, technically, it hasn't even reached version 1 yet!
