      When I send my Indesign CS 5 packaged files with OT fonts from my Mac (zipped), the user on the PC side tries to open the InDesign file but gets “read only”. Same thing when I sent an IDML file. Not sure of her PC OS at this time.

      Any help is appreciated.

      Is it truly Read Only, or is it just opening on her end as Untitled?

      Client is telling me read only, David.

      Oh, the IDML file did open and she tried to relink images, but it came up with a message saying she could not load because of an improper filter.

      I don't think this is a so much a crossplatform issue as it is the ability of a Windows application to open a file directly from a zip archive. If I'm correct, your client double clicked the zip file and then double clicked the InDesign file. This the absolutely the incorrect way to do this.

      Tell the client to extract all files before trying to open any of them.

      Ok… thanks very much. We'll try that tomorrow. I just found out she as Windows 7 Professional.
