ID (CS4) flashing problem

      I am working in InDesign (CS4) and the screen is flashing or pulsing white every 12-13 seconds. It's not a huge problem, but it's a little like water torture.

      The only thing I can think that might have caused it is that I recently rebuilt the preferences. The computer is only a month old (a MacBook Pro, running OSX 10.6.4).

      Any ideas? If it is the new preferences, should I go into my back-up and grab the old preferences?

      That is one of the oddest things I've heard in a long time.

      That sounds like a system problem, not an InDesign problem! Are you sure it doesn't happen in any other programs?

      Yes, it's only in ID(CS4)… but it went away. It started happening over the thanksgiving break when I was away from home. So the only thing I can think is that it had something to do with their internet connection, but when I got home it stopped.
