Is this a bug in InDesign or Mac OS X?

      I am a big user of the keyboard whenever I can. I avoid the mouse as much as possible.

      So it is particularly annoying when every so often — including right now, frustratingly — some of the keyboard shortcuts across the entire CS4 suite cease to work. As in the zoom and reduce function [which I use a lot]. It was happening in Illustrator first, then I switched to InDesign and there it was. No zoom or reduce.

      Does anyone know of a fix for this annoying little bug, or am I simply meant to suffer the slowdown in production it causes?

      That has happened to me, but I have no idea. It's intermittent, usually once a month or so. The only way around it seems to be to quit and relaunch InDesign. I believe it happens in order to build patience in users and cause them to reflect upon their bellybutton for a while.

      Thanks David… just as I thought, a deliberate production inhibitor. Which on a warm Friday afternoon was partly welcomed anyhow.

      Ok then, now where's that bottle of Pinot Noir…
