      Hi,

I'm new to this forum (and certainly also new to InDesign), so I'm sorry if this question have been answered before (i vere not able to find anything even though I used the search-function).

I'm trying to place a .ai file in my InDesign document. I use the file > place function, choose the file I want to place and press ok. Then I place the file, and it looks all jagged rasterized and sort of like and old .gif-file from 1998 that I've strecth 250 percent.

Has anyone ever experienced this, and/or do you guys know how to fix it? Btw, I'm using CS5.

      Kind regards,

      Christina Jorgensen

      Christina,

Your display performance is probably set to typical (which means it doesn't look as good, but the program runs quicker). To change this on just this image (illustrator file), select the image and go to View > Display Performance > High Quality Display. If you want everything to look High Quality all the time, close all of your documents and edit your preferences > display performance.

You were right – this was actually the problem :) Thank you so much for the well-explained (and very fast!) answer!
