creating a poster based on a4 sized snippets

I'm a newbe trying to create a poster whose content are indesign snippets the size of a4 pages.
I want to make sure all my snippets fit in the poster.
Is there an easy way to create a single page poster based on tiled a4/letter pages in indesign?
..for now I created the single page based on calculations of the a4 pages total size (66 pages (11 x 6) a4 pages = 3267mm x 1260mm) – just wandering if there is a better way to do this.also
how would you create a grid based on 66 a4 pages (11×6)?
and lastly
if I want to insert 4 snippets the size of a4 into a single a4 page (or letter)
is there a way to auto fit to frame in the place cursor with snippets or only with images? (cant seem to make it work with snippets)Thanks for any help and your time!!
