      Hello everyone,

I have been trying to “trick” indesign XML into carrying Frame breaks. I have placeholder text put into the XML and then I search for it and replace it with framebreaks. However, when I find my placeholder *FB* followed by an end of paragraph \r and then replace with a frame break ~R, the paragraph style following the frame break turns into the previous paragraph’s style.
NOw, if I were to go into the document, select the placeholder *FB* and the return that follows it and simply type in the special character for frame break, the paragraphs styles are preserved. What is the difference between these two actions? Why does it work manually and not automatically with Find/replace? Is there a way to make it work with Find/replace. A solution for this problem would be fantastic. Thanks in advance for your help and thank you all in general for the help I have received on other topics.

      PJL
