Well, I guess I asked for a lot. I'm not a power user, and am still really just learning some of this ID stuff.

No, I haven't tired the TOC Advanced options.

I think I see what you mean, and I might be envisioning a solution: maybe create text box on each page for the title and #. Then be sure the # is at a flush right tab.

Besides just manually doing the TOC, a not-so-elegant (give-up-and-go-on) solution would be to insist on one page per hymn and fill in the empty space with something else – graphics or poetry or text.

I can't get back to it today, so I'll try tomorrow.
