Seamless Texture Editor Genetica 2 Released
Spiral Graphics Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Genetica 2, the anticipated new version of its flagship seamless texture editor. Free demo versions of the application can be downloaded from the company’s website.
New in Genetica 2 is a “Lab” system that helps artists quickly create a wide variety of seamless materials. Among the handful of Labs introduced, the new Substance Lab offers a user-friendly starting point for creating textures from scratch, while the new Weather Lab allows artists to quickly apply a wide variety of seamless weathering and aging effects to their materials. Genetica 2 also helps automate the construction of numerous texture types including weaves, air vents, peeling paint, floor grates, and wood. In addition to all the new features, Genetica 2 comes with well over 500 texture presets, each of which is seamless, resolution-independent, and fully editable.
Genetica 2 is available in two editions: Standard and Pro. As well as the new features found in the Standard edition, the Pro edition adds such goodies as fully seamless hair, volumetric clouds, a powerful batch processor, and more.
